Contemporary Guest Cloakroom
This contemporary guest cloakroom was designed by Simon Taylor as part of a whole home project for a family in a large Georgian house in Hertfordshire, The bespoke furniture for the cubicle was designed to incorporate a hidden cistern and additional storage to accommodate toiletries for guests. A large mirror built into the wall adds a sense of depth to the room and it has a heated demister pad to remove steam in the small space.
All the cabinetry is made from Wenge wood, and together with wooden skirting boards every piece was made at the Simon Taylor Furniture workshop in Bierton Buckinghamshire. A worksurface and splashback is made from limestone in New Cream and has a chamfered edge to be in keeping with the period of the property. The WC is in a rectangular style to complement the linear detailing of the furniture and is made by Duravit. The basin is made from marble by Waterfront and is in a Coral colourway and the wall-mounted three-hole tap is also by Waterfront. The 400 year-old reclaimed oak floorboards were also sourced by Simon Taylor Furniture and then distressed and antiqued to be in keeping with the age of the home.
