We were thrilled to be the recipients of two awards at the inaugural KBBFocus Awards & Celebration 2022 held at The Brewery in the City of London on 1^st December.

KBBFocus is a leading online magazine for the kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms and interiors industries and this was the title’s first in-person awards event, with more than 400 guests in attendance.

Our managing director, Simon Taylor, was presented with the award for Bathroom Design of the Year for our Tring project, a luxury en suite bath and shower room designed by our senior designer, Tony Lister. This was a full conversion of what was previously a gloomy bathroom with mis-matched furniture that our clients had inherited when they purchased their property. We had to create many bespoke elements for the bathroom to turn it into a spa-like sanctuary for the clients, who chose us for this project, having already had a kitchen designed, made and installed by Simon Taylor Furniture.

Simon was also proud to pick up the award for Apprenticeship Programme of the Year 2022, which recognises businesses that provide apprenticeship schemes to teenagers wanting to work in our industry. For 37 years, Simon Taylor Furniture has run an apprenticeship scheme and in 2021, Simon joined forces with his former college, Rycotewood in Oxford, to train local teenagers on a Level 2 Furniture Manufacturer Apprenticeship course. We now have two apprentices on the course, which splits time between academic and professional workplace experience.
