FINALIST AT THE KBBFOCUS AWARDS 2023

SIMON TAYLOR FURNITURE IS A FINALIST AT THE KBBFOCUS AWARDS & CELEBRATION 2023

We are delighted to have been shortlisted in the category of Apprenticeship Scheme of the Year  (sponsored by Lecico) at the forthcoming KBBFocus Awards & Celebration 2023. The event will take place on November 30^th at The Brewery in the City of London.

This is a particular privilege, as we were joint winners in the same category, last year. In the period between June 2022 and June 2023, we recruited our latest apprentice on a part work based and part academic apprenticeship in association with Rycotewood Furniture Centre in Oxford, the leading centre of excellence delivering vocational training for people who want careers in furniture design and making.

In order to recruit our third apprenticeship on the same scheme, we also held our first ever Apprenticeship Open Day, on a Saturday in April this year, inviting local teenagers and their families to attend our cabinet workshop to meet our current apprentices and to talk to the team about their future careers in bespoke furniture making. We have since recruited one of the attendees as our next apprentice.

We are now looking to expand our apprenticeship scheme further to offer different opportunities to attract apprentices to the kitchens and bathrooms sector.
